A Professional Looker’s Sydney

Dark was the Night

Those who know how to look to see are truly gifted.  The art of seeing and the camera, its tool, combine to give us some amazing impressions.

A city is like any other, we work in it, and see its daytime face. In the mornings tired, puffy, a bit grey, offers nothing enticing.  Most of us who work the city, keeping it alive by serving her vital functions never see her brightly sequined nightface and glamour.

The fun side is always reserved for the leisure traveler, the tourist or to those who know how to look and can report back to the rest of us with beautiful images like these.

Architecture meets Art

David Haworth is the photographer of these striking images.  I thank him for letting me use them.  The angles and lights illustrate a whole new city than the one I’m used to seeing in my day to day dealing with her.  David has the art of seeing.

About NewtownLiving

I live in Newtown. I love Inner West. But I can love other neighbourhoods as well.
